It was announced on March 17th that radar scans made in November found the presence of metal and organic objects in two empty spaces behind Tutankhamun’s burial chamber.

Results of a second digital radar survey, conducted at the end of March are to be announced.

There are suggestions that the hidden chambers contain the tomb of Queen Nefertiti.

It’s hoped the discovery will help to increase tourism in Egypt which has been badly affected by the Russian plane crash and subsequent security fears at Sharm El-Sheikh.
