Ms Hayes was “well-known” to many people in the travel industry, according to a fundraising page set up in her memory by other travel agent workers. It has already raised almost £1,000.

The page says she was the assistant manager at her local Tui branch, and that she had a daughter.

“Our thoughts go out to everyone affected by this terrible incident, including all the TUI staff,” it concludes.
