Three people have been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a serious collision on the M4 in Berkshire.

The accident happened at around 12.20pm when there was a collision between a HGV lorry and a minibus.

South Central Ambulance Service said three people with life-threatening injuries and three who are less serious have been taken to hospital.

The road is currently closed eastbound between junction 14 at Hungerford and junction 13 at Chieveley and police say it is likely to remain closed for several hours.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area or if they are stuck in traffic to remain in their vehicles.
