Detectives investigating the disappearance of Emma Faulds, missing in South Ayrshire for more than six weeks, have found human remains.
The 39-year-old has not been seen since 28 April in Fairfield Park, Monkton.
Police have previously said they were concerned for her welfare after she failed to make contact with her family and claimed she would not leave her dog without ensuring he was cared for.
On Thursday, Police Scotland said: “On Wednesday 12 June 2019, human remains were discovered in the Galloway Forest area.
“The family of Emma Faulds has been made aware of this discovery and police enquiries are ongoing.”
A man has been charged with her murder.
